Minutes: TN Chapter 2nd Meeting of Feb 23

Dear IIMCians,


The Tamil Nadu Chapter of IIMCAA met today at President, Amar Nath's residence. The meeting was attended by Sneha Bhattacharjee and Hussain Kodinhi.


Minutes of Meeting


- Membership: Amar Nath, Sneha & Hussain have registered themselves under yearly membership presently. More participation is expected from the other members in the chapter once they receive the membership forms.

- Next meeting: The members have decided to meet quarterly as per everyone's availability.

- Bank Account: The members have decided to open a bank account to safeguard the money collected from the members as the membership fee. However, this is subject to all the rules and regulations as per the banking guidelines.

- Other issues discussed: Family picnic, alumni get-together, coordinating more participation in the coming meetings.

Minutes: UP Chapter Meeting, February 12

Dear IIMCians,


Uttar Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association met at Dept of Journalism, Lucknow University on February 12. The meeting was chaired by Chapter President Mr. Santosh Valmeeki & attended by Organisation Secretary Marinder Mishra Mashaal, Treasurer Laxmi Shankar Mishra, Executive Members David and Aniruddha Dhar. Rupesh Pathak & Ramendra Singh also participated in the meeting. Mr. Mukul Srivastav, Assistant Professor of Lucknow University was special invitee to the meeting to discuss the upcoming Seminar.


Decisions are as follows:-

1. UP Chapter will organise a seminar on "Media & Politics: Issues & Challenges" with in association with Dept of Journalism, Lucknow University in April, 2013.

2. A member will share his/ her professional experience with others in future meetings.

3. It was decided to get letter pad published.

4. Next meeting will take place on 1st Sunday of March.

5. Membership campaign to be intensified. Marinder Mishra Mashaal, Laxmi Shankar Mishra, David and Samarth will co-ordinate with each other for successful completion of membership drive in the state.

AP Chapter Starts Membership Drive, Next Meet on March 3

The meeting for membership drive of Andhra Pradesh Chapter of IIMC Alumni Association took place at HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad on 10th February 2013.
Those who attended the meeting are Byomakesh Biswal, Rajesh Parida, Indu Kumari Jha, Chetan Mallik, Subhamoy Das, Akarshan Kumar Giri, Rudra Narayan Das, Suchismita Maharana, Manoj Das, Rabinarayan Samal, Bharat Bahadur, Shantiswarup Samantaray, Niharkanta Panda, Abinash Mohapatra & Rakesh Kumar Mohanty.
For the first time, as per the decision of IIMCAA, the chapter had included the IIMCians who have done the short term certificate courses from Dhenkanal. After the discussion on membership drive, some of the IIMCians contributed their membership fee to the association. The meeting decided to make an online database for the association and two IIMCians Subhamoy Das and Chetan Mallik from Deloitte Software Company voluntarily took the responsibility.
Besides, the meeting also discussed on the delegations from the chapter to the Alumni Meet of association in Delhi. IIMCian Chetan Mallik and Shantiswarup Samantaray voluntarily expressed their willingness to attend the meeting there.
As the chapter was assigned, the Genaral Secretary Rajesh Parida coordinated to contribute the articles to the souvenir of IIMCAA.
Each and every IIMCian who attended the meeting told for a couple of minutes on his/her ''Safar So far'' taking from IIMC days to today.
It has been tentatively decided that the next meeting of AP Chapter will be held on 3rd March 2013 (Sunday) at 10 AM in HUDA Park, Vanasthalipuram, Hyderabad which will be followed by a lunch to be prepared by the IIMCians only.

PTI is looking for an experienced and capable journalist for the post of Editor of its Hindi service, 'Bhasha'.


Those who have at least 15 years' of experience in mainline Hindi journalism in a leading newspaper or preferably in a news agency, will be considered. The person must have proven record as a journalist and team leader.


Excellent command over Hindi as well as a good command over English must. The person should be able to work on a computer.

Senior/Principal Correspondents (Delhi and Mumbai)

For both general news reporting and business reporting. Candidates must have experience of editorial work in news agencies/leading English newspapers of a minimum of 8 years, including at least 5 years in reporting. Age not over 35 years.


News Coordinators (Delhi and Mumbai)

Must have at least 8 years' experience in editing and handling news desk operations, preferably with news agencies/ leading English newspapers. News Coordinators take charge of various shifts of the News Desk, including coordination with PTI bureaux across the country and abroad. Age not over 35 years.


Copy Editors/ Rewrite persons (Delhi and Mumbai)

Hockey India requires Volunteers for FIH Hockey World League Rd 2 2013

Dear IIMCians,

Hockey India (HI) has accepted our proposal to recruit Volunteers for the 'FIH Hero Hockey World League Round 2 2013' from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

Hockey India requires 18 volunteers from the IIMC for the hockey world league, which will be held from 18 to 24 February 2013 at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, near India Gate. Reporting date is 16 February, Saturday.

Volunteers will be provided Food and Participation Certificates from Hockey India, no remuneration.

IIMCians, who have 1-2 years of experience in mass communication field, are eligible to apply. Freshers from any IIMC branch can apply also.

Minutes: Central Committee Meet of February 3

Dear IIMCians,


The Central Committee meeting at UNI campus on February 3 was presided by President Mukesh Kaushik and was attended by Vice-Presidents Aakash Kumar & Apurva Chamaria, Organisation Secretaries Harshendra Verdhan & Ritesh Verma, Treasurer Gaurav Dikshit, Secretaries Tanu Shri, Anand Saurabh, Vartika Tomer & Kunwar Abhishek Bhagat, Executive Members Amit Kanaujia, Soumya Jha, Ranveer Singh, Neha Keshri, Keshav Kumar and Harendra Yadav.


Meeting deliberated the preparations of Alumni Meet scheduled for February 17 at IIMC Headquarter, New Delhi. The decisions taken are as follows:-


1. Apurva Chamaria appointed Convenor of Alumni Meet

Meeting unanimously appointed Vice-President Apurva Chamaria as Convenor of Alumni Meet. Three Deputy Convenors Mohit Agarwal (Finance), Anand Saurabh (Logistics) will assist him. Organisation Secretary Harshendra Verdhan & Treasurer Gaurav Dikshit will work in close coordination with this team to make the alumni meet a grand success.


2. Aakash Kumar appointed Editor of Souvenir

Vice-President Aakash Kumar will be Editor of the Souvenir being published on the occasion of Alumni Meet. Coordination Committee will function as Editorial Board under his Chairmanship. Members of the Editorial Board are Shubhashish Mallik, Tanu Shri, Amit Kanujia, Rishi Kumar Singh & Vartika Tomer. Souvenir will comprise Articles by prominent personalities on changing trends in communication industry, Alumni activities and Advertisements.


3. Felicitation of Campus Wale Couples

Alumni Meet will felicitate all Campus Wale Couples appeared in the series at our Facebook Page. Those couples who choose not to appear on the page but would agree to be a part of the felicitation shall inform the IIMCAA latest by February 7 at Organisation Secretary Ritesh Verma will prepare final list of CWCs to be felicitated and release it on Feb 8.


4. Felicitation of 1st Batch of Hindi Journalism

Alumni Meet will felicitate the alumni of 1st batch of Hindi Journalism Department which is celebrating silver jubilee this year. Secretary Vartika Tomer has been entrusted with the responsibility to contact & invite alumni of 1st batch.


5. Felicitation of Faculties & Ex Faculty

Alumni Meet will felicitate all the current & former faculty members. Organisation Secretary Ritesh Verma has been entrusted with the task to contact and invite teachers.

BRLP requires Manager Communication, Posts: 25

The Bihar Rural Livelihoods Project (BRLP) is an ambitious project of the Government of Bihar for the alleviation of poverty in the State.


S/he will be responsible for developing and disseminating district specific communication materials.

S/he will be responsible for supporting in Capacity building exercise and BCC activities.

Working out for publicity and branding at the district level. Ensuring communication and program related information flow to all BPIU units from DPCU and other stake holders.

Media relation activities with success story compilation. Dissemination of Project information to all concerned.

Implementing communication strategy and hand holding support in publication at various levels with various tools - Print, Audio/Video Web etc.

Developing case studies on Project/program and learning notes of best practices. S/he will also have to undertake extensive field visit to ensure quality project/program interventions.

BJMC/MJMC/PG Diploma in Mass Communication from recognized institutes/university. (Fresher can apply).


Post graduate in any discipline from recognized institutes/university with minimum 2 years of post qualification relevant experience.


Graduate in any discipline from recognized institutes/university with minimum 4 years of post qualification relevant experience.

S/he should have worked in designing, developing and rolling out of developmental communication strategies, documenting case studies and have experience of establishing liaison with communication partners.
